Guiyang co-op with companies in eco-environmental governance and hydrogen energy industry

International and local companies joined hands with the government of Guiyang to build joint ventures in the city in an effort to forge a hydrogen energy demonstration industrial cluster and explore market opportunities.

The strategic cooperation framework agreement was signed on March 28 in Guiyang, capital of southwestern Guizhou province, between the Guiyang Municipal People's Government and a group of companies aiming to jointly carry out regional cooperation on eco-environmental governance in China and Europe also to build a demonstration industry cluster. 

According to the agreement, each enterprise will establish a joint venture in Guiyang to integrate ecological and environmental protection and hydrogen energy system solutions, technological research, market application, equipment manufacturing and other advantageous resources.

They will also build a hydrogen energy industrial cluster with Guiyang as a research & development and manufacturing base and to explore and expand the Chinese hydrogen energy application market.

The cooperation involved Guizhou Maritime Silk Road International Investment Co, Guizhou Electric Power Design and Research Institute Co under Power Construction Corporation of China, German Hydrogen Era Technology Company, Germany Europe Blue Energy Co. and Austria Bioenergy 2020+. Chen Yan, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, spoke at the conference and witnessed the signing of the agreement.

The signatories are Tang Xinglun, Vice Mayor, Zhang Hui, Director of Guizhou Maritime Silk Road International Investment Co and Stephen Duch, Managing Director of German Hydrogen Era Technology Co. etc. The other attendees witnessed the signing of the strategic document at the ceremony hosted by Xu Junsong, Secretary General of the Municipal Government.

Chen extended a warm welcome to the enterprise leaders and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Guiyang. He said that Guiyang implemented the new development concept, and firmly guarded the two bottom lines of development and ecology in recent years. Moreover, In-depth implementation of the mega ecological strategy Guiyang action was carried out, promoting both ecological innovation of industries and industrialization of ecology, by which the economic development and the environmental protection can facilitate and complement each other and develop cooperatively. 

Chen also noted that at present, the district is actively catching the strategic opportunity of a new round of high-level opening up, adhering to high standards, implementing high-level openness and promoting high-quality development. Where numerous investment opportunities were unveiled and great development potential is shown, the entrepreneurs are hoped to take the signing of the agreement as a key opportunity to start from the cooperation project and build Guiyang into a bridgehead to seize the Chinese hydrogen energy market and to share China's high-quality development benefits in the new era.

The business leaders expressed that they will speed up the implementation of the agreement, fully utilize their advantages in hydrogen energy technology and manufacturing, and contribute progressively to Guiyang's construction of a national ecological civilization model city and the creation of a medium- to high-end manufacturing city.

The relevant department officials of the local government and other business leaders also attended the signing ceremony.
