Nanming adds municipal technology business incubators

Three enterprises in Nanming district in Guiyang, in southwestern Guizhou province, were recently officially recognized as municipal science and technology business incubators, according to officials of the local bureau of science and technology.

Officials said the incubators bear the important responsibilities of cultivating science and technology enterprises and commercializing scientific and technological achievements.

They added that the application and evaluation of science and technology business incubators at or above the municipal level could further standardize and promote the cultivation of local businesses.

Officials said the incubators could boost the employment, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, create new economic growth points and effectively accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the district's economy.

The three companies that were recognized are involved, among other things, in products for smart and healthy lighting and smart transportation, the upgrading of traditional agricultural products and the one-stop service platforms for businesses.

Nanming district will provide a rent subsidy of 10 yuan per square meter for first three years for enterprises that have successfully obtained the municipal recognition.

At the same time, after an annual assessment, those qualified and recognized as outstanding incubators will also be given funding of 50,000 yuan ($7,112.58) or 100,000 yuan.

Officials said that in the near future, Nanming district will encourage and help science and technology enterprises to apply to be recognized as provincial and national science and technology enterprise incubators.
