The forest park is the former Experimental Forest Farm of Guizhou Academy of Forestry, which was used as forest park in 1961. It situates at Tuyunguan in Guizhou, 2.5 kilometers away from Guiyang, which covers an area of 260 hectare. 90 percent of the area are covered by forest with abundant resources such as precious trees and rare flowers as well as wild animals including owls, squirrels and pangolins.

There are still many stone inscriptions in the park. The neighbouring area used to have the temple of Guan Yu and ancient pavilions, where has more than 20 stone memorial archways.

The forest park has the reputation of "one of the eight scenes in Guiyang" and tops the urban forest parks in the country. It was listed as China’s famous park in 1999.
