Nanming district moves to construct middle, high-end consumer industry system

Nanming district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- plans to build a middle, high-end consumer industry system, according to local media reports on July 14.

District officials said one key part of the project will be a commercial area supported by the Nanming River riverside economic belt and a large Huaguoyuan business area.

The district plans to take the Nanming River riverside economic belt as the main axis from which to connect and radiate out business operations to surrounding areas.

The coordinated development will take place of top luxury and high-end brands, as well as time-honored brands and original brands -- in a bid to build the largest high-end business and economic belt in Guiyang.

At the same time, the project will take advantage of the characteristics and resources of the large Huaguoyuan residential community.

It will target middle and high-end consumers and younger affluent groups, building the Huaguoyuan business area into a modern fashion-themed consumer center integrating retail fashion shops, leisure and entertainment, catering and delicacies.

Another aspect of the project is to construct a middle and high-end business services industry chain, with integrated logistics services, industry financing operations, business buildings and residential and community services.

For the development of an integrated logistics service chain, the district plans to focus on warehousing logistics, third-party logistics, supply chain logistics and modern logistics technology.

Officials said this will attract leading companies, accelerate the development of logistics infrastructure and a logistics support system and improve the informatization level of logistics operations.

The district also plans to expand the development of its services trade, attracting a number of services companies that are innovative and are internationally competitive.

To develop an industry financial services chain, the district plans to rely on the headquarters economy to further promote the cluster development of emerging financial institutions -- such as venture capital funds and third-party payment groups.

It plans to promote the innovation of financial formats, encourage financial support to the real economy and achieve the integrated development of the cultural and tourism industries.

Officials said that to develop the financial services brand of Nanming, it would be important to cultivate venture capital, private equity investment, industrial investment and other investment funds.

For the development of the business buildings service chain, the building economy will be taken as an important driver.

Officials said a number of large chain brands enterprises and headquarters will be cultivated and introduced. Leading manufacturers will also be introduced.

The district will focus on the development of investment management and consulting services, legal services, accounting and auditing services.

It will support the development of third-party testing and certification services in key areas such as high-end equipment, information technology, biomedicines, environmental protection and new energy.

The district will also aim to attract international industry organizations and associations in the field of high-end professional services.

In terms of the development community services, the introduction of businesses will be encouraged to meet the basic living needs of residents.

A community services center will be built to integrate catering, housekeeping, hairdressing, nursery services, maintenance, collection and payments, health care and other basic services.

At the same time, convenience chain stores will be encouraged to upgrade and transform the existing old shops, individual shops and small shops in the district.

This will be done through acquisitions, franchises and joint operations, so as to attract big brands, chains and large-scale operations.

The district will also support the development of unmanned convenience stores and smart micro vegetable farms.
