Nanming district utilizes intelligent technology to prevent fire

Nanming district of Guiyang, the capital city of Guizhou province, has deployed intelligent technology in recent years to minimize the risk of fires.

According to local news reports on Nov 4, the metropolis has innovated and developed a fire protection platform at its Huaguoyuan residential area with the help of the internet of things, big data and other intelligent means.

The Huaguoyuan area has some 147,000 residential households, 13,700 office buildings, 17,200 apartments and 10,400 shops, among others.

Nanming district has built 22 mini fire stations in the area and recruited retired fire officers and soldiers to form a full-time fire brigade to take on the tasks of fire protection and rescue and disaster relief in the Huaguoyuan area.

At the same time, an advanced intelligent fire control platform has 70 fire control rooms, which can monitor 1.4 million points of interest. It can not only automatically sound the alarm, but also monitor the duty situation for the micro fire stations and their fire controls.

In order to operate a three-dimensional fire prevention and control system, the intelligent fire platform is equipped with a water level and water pressure monitoring system, an automatic fire alarm system and a video monitoring system.

Through internet of things sensors, the status of fire-fighting facilities, electrical equipment, gas facilities and evacuation facilities can be monitored in real time -- thereby realizing intelligent management of fire-fighting operations and rescues.

At present, 775 sets of water pressure sensors have been installed in the area, 392 liquid level sensors have been installed in fire pools and fire water tanks and electronic inspection devices have been installed in 252 fire pumps.
