Nanming district government signed a cooperation agreement on June 9 with Shenzhen-based biotech company Guangdong Authenmole Biotech Inc for the planned construction of a modern Chinese medicine plant and support facilities.
The new development, formally called the Guizhou Modern Chinese Medicine Application and Innovation Industry Demonstration Base Project, will be located in Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Guangdong Authenmole Biotech focuses on biotech extraction technology and produces, among other things, tea extracts, plant extracts and an extract from the Ganoderma lucidum, which is a medicinal mushroom.
The cooperation accord between Nanming and the Guangdong company is reportedly a specific undertaking for Nanming -- to implement its new industrialization and agricultural modernization and improve the level of its overall industry supply chain.

Under the agreement, the two sides will work together to form a team of Chinese medicine experts, promote the rapid construction of the facility to deadline and strive to enable the local Ganoderma lucidum sector to reach an industry scale of 10 billion yuan.
Ganoderma lucidum is not only a Chinese medicinal material but also belongs to the category of edible fungi, or mushroom.
In recent years Guizhou province has prioritized the development of the edible mushroom industry and its production technology is now relatively mature.
The sound infrastructure, healthy environment and high-quality and sustainable raw material supplies in Guizhou is said to be extremely suitable for the cultivation of Ganoderma lucidum and the development of the Ganoderma lucidum industry.
