Nanming district's rural revitalization bureau was officially founded on June 16, marking the advancement of rural revitalization in Nanming.
The newly established bureau is mainly responsible for specific tasks related to consolidating and extending the accomplishments of poverty alleviation, as well as coordinating and advancing rural revitalization.
Its foundation is in response to demands from the district government, and it will provide a powerful institutional guarantee for the rural revitalization work that is underway in Nanming.
In recent years, Nanming has achieved significant results in combating poverty.
Currently, Nanming has achieved full coverage of basic medical insurance and critical illness insurance for its urban and rural population. The district's coverage rate of urban and rural basic endowment insurance has also reached 100 percent.
Meanwhile, Nanming helps other poverty-stricken areas within Guizhou province in regards to employment, industry development, education and medical services.
The district has invested 110 million yuan in supporting 67 poverty-alleviation projects. It has also sent cadres to Puan county, Guyang town in Changshun county, Shitun town in Wangmo county, Longping town in Luodian county and Xiuwen county to help them shake off poverty.
In terms of education, Nanming sent 1,130 teachers to impoverished areas to provide teaching experience and invited 14,325 teachers to the district to receive training and education.
To drive employment, Nanming organized around 100 recruitment fairs and employment and entrepreneurship guidance activities both online and offline.
Additionally, Nanming helped sell 12,559 metric tons of agricultural and featured products from poverty-stricken areas, with a total sales amount of 120 million yuan.
