The Duoyouduo farmer's market -- in the Nanming district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- recently completed its full renovation and upgrading, with the result of improved facilities and substantially better shopping environment.
Duoyouduo is said to be a prime example of Nanming's success in upgrading its eight farmer's markets according to the requirements of the "Guiyang City Standardized Farmers Market Construction Standard" policy.
The revamp mainly focused on interior decoration, facilities, equipment and hygiene improvements, making the stall area division clearer and comprehensively upgrading the support facilities.
The Duoyouduo farmer's market was established in 2007 in Huannan Lane in Nanming district, with more than 100 individual businesses in over 10 business categories settling there.
In 2020, hardware and software facilities in the market -- including water pipelines, walls and booths -- were revamped. That helped alleviate such problems as obsolete public facilities, poor drainage and slippery floors.
However, due to the large numbers of customers and insufficient support services, problems remained.
In March this year, a new round of renovation kicked off, reportedly bringing with it a brand new shopping experience.
