Purple flowers attract tourists to Nanming's rural fields

Glorious verbena flowers planted in dozens of mu of land are now blooming, filling the air with wafting fragrance and luring enchanted visitors to the fields in Taohuawu village – located in the Nanming district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Around 1.20 million plants of verbena are in full bloom in the fields, which cover 40 to 50 mu (3.33 hectares).

The flower attraction officially opened to tourists on Aug 12, and is currently open from 8 am to 8 pm, with the verbena flower tourism season set to run until the end of October.

In addition to the enthralling flowers, the tourist site is decorated with windmills, roads painted in multiple colors, as well as bridges and streams – providing a great travel destination, particularly, for tourists wanting to take photos.
