Table tennis player Liu Yucong from Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, performed strongly at the 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 8th National Olympic Games.
Liu won the 16-21-year-old table tennis women's singles finals and took fourth place in the table tennis women's doubles.

The 18-year-old Liu Yucong, who lives in Xinhua Road, Nanming district, has suffered from congenital mental retardation since childhood.
In 2016, the Guiyang Disabled Persons' Federation initiated the "Guiyang Special Olympics Athletes Five-Year Plan", recruiting dozens of people with intellectual disabilities from the city for professional sports training.
Liu was recruited for table tennis training as she showed strong talent and interest in the sport since childhood.
