The treatment of the black and foul-smelling water bodies in Huoshipo has achieved positive results, setting an example for environmental treatment and protection in Nanming.
Huoshipo is located in Chaoyang village in Nanming district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The treatment involves five ponds with a combined treated water area of 20,234 square meters.

In response to the "Water Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan" and "Notice on the Implementation Plan for the Treatment of Urban Black and Smelly Waters", Nanming has established a standard management and control mechanism for black and odorous waters by controlling the source of the pollution, conducting internal source treatment and garbage collection.
The initiative cleaned up 24,309.7 cubic meters of silt, constructed 3,012 meters of sewage branch pipes, and transported 12 tons of domestic garbage from the polluted water.
"Since this black pond was cleaned up, the living environment here has significantly improved and the air has become fresher," said a man surnamed Liu, who lives nearby.
