Guiyang puppetry opera staged to celebrate Lantern Festival

A lively performance of Guiyang puppetry opera, recognized as intangible cultural heritage at the Guizhou provincial level, was staged on Feb 15 at the Jiaxiu Pavilion scenic area – located in the Nanming district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The activity was sponsored by the Guiyang Tourism and Culture Bureau and aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of such art forms.

This year, the traditional Lantern Festival, a traditional event for family reunions in China, was celebrated on Feb 15.
