A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Feb 20 for a raft of key projects in the Nanming district of Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – that are due to kick off construction in the first quarter of the year.
The dozen cover such fields as new-type industry, new-type urbanization, infrastructure and people's livelihoods.
Of the projects, six are industrial projects, one shanty town renovation project, two infrastructure construction projects, two old residential community renovation projects and one people's livelihood project.

The total investment amounts to 6.16 billion yuan ($924.23 million) and around 1.85 billion yuan of funds will be put in place in the current year.
Out of the total, investment in industrial projects will be 4.27 billion yuan – accounting for 69.27 percent of total investment in major projects under construction – and the annual planned investment is 1.34 billion yuan.
Featured among the main projects is the Nanming Intelligent Manufacturing Project (Phase three).
It covers an area of 63 mu (4.2 hectares) and is projected to have a total floor space of 115,200 square meters.
The completion of the project is expected to help Nanming achieve industrial breakthroughs.
