Nanming, Beijing Normal University deepen education cooperation

The Nanming district government and Beijing Normal University signed an agreement on June 16 via a video conference to deepen education cooperation.

According to the deal, the two sides will explore new cooperation models, reconstruct a high-quality education system, and promote the modernization of educational governance capabilities.

From April 2022 to April 2027, the two parties will cooperate to build the Nanming Education Research Institute and its affiliated experimental schools.

The institute will set up seven centers to improve the education quality of Nanming and better meet the diverse educational needs of different groups in a comprehensive and systematic way.

Among the centers are the Excellent Teacher Development Center, the Student Development Center, the Curriculum and Teaching Research and Development Center (Guiyang Branch of the World Curriculum Research Center), the Future School Research Center, the Education Informatization Research Center, the Vocational Education Research Center and the Art Education Research Center.

Within three to five years, the two parties will develop the Nanming Institute of Education into an educational think tank serving the development and reform of regional education and providing professional advice and support for regional educational decision-making.

They will also use the Nanming Institute of Education as a platform to regularly hold educator exchange forums, the Guiyang branch of the World Curriculum Convention, a column on teacher education achievements, and the Guizhou-Southeast Asia Teacher Development Forum.

In addition, the Teacher Education Research Center of Beijing Normal University will help with the new school's construction in Nanming, build experimental schools affiliated to the research institute, and explore a new path for group-based education under the university-government-school cooperation model.
