Projects to improve nursing services for the elderly in Nanming district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, are making progress.
Nanming has compiled its 14th Five-Year Plan for the Construction of the Elderly Service System in Nanming District of Guiyang City, which clarifies the overall planning and development direction of elderly care in Nanming over a five-year period.
According to the plan, Nanming will achieve full coverage of an elderly care service facility network at the district, sub-district and residential community levels.
The Administrative Measures for Community Home-based Elderly Care Services in Nanming District and the Management Rules for the Rating of Elderly Service Institutions have been formulated, and the Guidelines for the Construction of Third-level Elderly Care Service Facilities in Nanming District (Trial) are being drafted.
Meanwhile, the List of Basic Elderly Care Services in Nanming District is being improved, focusing on the government's purchase of basic services for the elderly who need them.
Moreover, the List of Socialized Elderly Care Services and the Negative List of Elderly Care Services of Nanming district have been launched. The government's expenditures on elderly care services are being measured, focusing on the purchase of community canteens and rehabilitation nursing services in the form of awards instead of subsidies.
Since the beginning of this year, a total of 27 elderly nursing projects have been completed and another 29 projects are still under construction.
