Since a new wave of COVID-19 broke out on Aug 31, Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has taken quick measures to ensure people's daily necessities while tightening virus prevention and control policies.

The city's Nanming district has set up four temporary food supply locations, providing 58-yuan fresh bags and 98-yuan fresh bags for residents to choose from. It has also implemented segmented contactless distribution to guarantee all necessary supplies in the temporary control area.

Meanwhile, the Nanming district market regulation bureau, the Nanming district civil affairs bureau and the Nanming district women's federation have sent staff to the fresh food supply points to ensure the quality and safety of food.

As of 17:00 on Sept 2, Nanming had contacted more than 10 supermarket companies to quickly send fresh supplies.

A total of 315 orders have been delivered to the food supply points, with a total of 1,665 kilograms of fresh materials. Among them were 290 kg of meat and 600 kg of vegetables.

At present, although demand from residents in the temporary control area has increased, necessities are in sufficient supply.

In addition, Nanming has urged supermarkets, farmers' markets and other enterprises in the district to increase stocks of daily necessities and control the prices of grain, oil, meat, eggs, and vegetables.
