Tertiary industry dominates Nanming's rapid development

The tertiary industry has become the main economic development driver of Nanming district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Statistics show that the added value of the district's tertiary industry jumped from 30.43 billion yuan ($4.33 billion) in 2012 to 65.17 billion yuan in 2021, while its contribution rate to the district's economic development reached 77.9 percent.

From 2012 to 2021, total retail sales of consumer goods in Nanming increased from 22.77 billion yuan in 2012 to 73.89 billion yuan in 2021, increasing by a factor of 3.25.

In the future, Nanming will continue to focus on the service industry, keep an eye on industrial transformation and consumption upgrades, speed up the deployment of productive service industries such as technological services, software information, modern finance, and modern logistics, and accelerate the development of business services, health services, community services and more.

Meanwhile, strong efforts will be made to promote the integration of culture, tourism and business, expand the supply of the service industry, and enhance industrial development and core competitiveness.

By 2026, the added value of the producer service industry in Nanming is expected to account for more than 65 percent of the total added value of the district's service industry.
