Nanming strengthens water pollution prevention, control

Strong efforts have been made by Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, to ensure water quality.

In particular, the water quality of the Nanming section of the Nanming River is under strict management and monitoring.

Although Nanming already has six waste water treatment plants at the municipal level in its jurisdiction, it is building or expanding six reclaimed water plants along the Nanming River to prevent and control water pollution of the river.

Several of the projects - the Hebin Reclaimed Water Plant, the Guimian Reclaimed Water Plant, the Taici Reclaimed Water Plant, the Guigang Reclaimed Water Plant and the Wulicong Reclaimed Water Plant - will have a total sewage treatment capacity of 150,000 cubic meters per day after they are put into use.

Meanwhile, a total of 154,000 cub m of treated tail water will be discharged into the Nanming River as landscape water supply every day.

At present, the Hongyan Reclaimed Water Plant and its supporting facilities are progressing steadily, and the Shuikousi Water Reclamation Plant is also being planned.

After the completion of the Hongyan Reclaimed Water Plant and its supporting facilities, it will effectively improve the sewage treatment efficiency of Nanming and reduce the ditch sewage interception burden along the Nanming River, improving the environmental quality of the river.
