The Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernization Industry Alliance was officially established in Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Nov 25, according to an announcement at the Guizhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernization Industry Development Forum held the same day.
The alliance was initiated by the CPC Nanming district committee and the Nanming district government, and consists of around 10 enterprises.
It aims to help Guizhou build a complete industrial chain for the traditional Chinese medicine industry which includes growing TCM plants, R&D and trade.
It will also boost TCM-related standardized large-scale planting, primary processing, intensive processing, commercial logistics, standardization construction, talent cultivation, application and promotion.
Moving forward, Nanming will take advantage of the resource advantages of the alliance, focus on the construction of a comprehensive service demonstration area for the TCM industry in Guizhou, and explore an innovative cooperation model for the TCM industry that is "promoted by the government, led by enterprises, and supported by scientific research institutions".
It will also boost the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements in the TCM industry.
