Nanming district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has completed renovations on 110 back streets and alleys since the start of the year.
This upgrade was intended to help tackle problems such as people littering indiscriminately, illegal parking, unauthorized construction work, overflowing sewage, and unregistered street stalls.

On the premise of improving the infrastructure, Nanming revamped its back streets and alleys by giving them historical and cultural characteristics. It has created a group of boutique streets and alleys that not only discourage littering and other problems, but also reflect Nanming's urban cultural taste.
