Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, saw a boom in tourism during this year's Spring Festival holiday, which ran from Jan 21 to 27.
A total of 475,400 tourists visited Nanming over the seven-day period, a year-on-year increase of 40.06 percent.
The tourism revenue generated during the holiday reached 470 million yuan ($70.15 million), increasing 41.99 percent over the same period last year.
A series of culture and tourism activities was held during the break to attract tourists, which highlighted traditional cultural performances such as folk weddings and cross talks.
In addition, the district's bureau of culture, sports, radio, television and tourism carried out safety inspections at accommodation venues, as well as tourism and cultural locations to ensure that COVID-19 prevention and control measures were followed.
