Nanming improves living environment

Over the past year, Nanming district in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, focused on improving the lives of local residents.

It paid close attention to issues such as employment, education, medical care and elderly care, while continuously improving residents' sense of happiness and security.

Last year, the district started the construction of 18 "15-minute living circles", completed 456 new projects and renovated 21 farmer's markets. It also built 4,800 new parking spaces, upgraded six old communities and renovated 110 back streets and alleys.

During the same period, Nanming promoted rural vitalization and achieved remarkable results in improving its living environment.  

It renovated 247 farm houses and completed the treatment of rural domestic sewage in 27 villages. In regards to garbage management, one township-level station and 13 village-level locations were built for collecting recyclables and hazardous waste.

Nanming has always put the improvement of people's livelihood in a prominent position and continued to strengthen its public services to enhance the high-quality development of society.

Last year, the district created 39,250 new jobs and reconstructed six primary, secondary schools and kindergartens, creating 6,000 new admission places.

Medical projects, including the Huaguoyuan outpatient department of the Nanming Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital, as well as the main building of the Nanming Center for Disease Control and Prevention, were completed.  

Nanming also renovated 15 elderly care centers and 30 elderly care stations to achieve full coverage of elderly care services at the community level.
