Nanming launches to-do list to improve people's livelihoods in 2023

Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, announced its to-do list to improve people's livelihoods on Feb 16.

Tasks will focus on employment, education, medical and health care, transportation, living environment and rural treatment.

In terms of employment and education, Nanming plans to help 39,200 people find employment throughout the year.

Meanwhile, Nanming will construct or expand three kindergartens, primary schools and middle schools, build one kindergarten into a demonstration site at the provincial level, and jointly build the Nanming Education Research Institute with Beijing Normal University.

As for health, Nanming plans to build five smart health first aid stations, and two traditional Chinese medicine service sites at community-level health service centers, as well as renovate and upgrade nine infant care service institutions and three health service stations.

It will also implement renovation projects involving outpatient emergencies, hospitalization, and medical technology in the Nanming District Maternal and Child Health Care, and promote the standardized construction of rural clinics.

To make travel and commuting more convenient, Nanming will finish construction on three new roads, start construction on the first phase of metro line 3, improve pedestrian crossing facilities, and complete the comprehensive management of 20,000 urban manhole covers.

To improve residents' living environment, Nanming will build two new large and medium-sized domestic waste transfer stations, renovate two domestic waste transfer stations, and renovate the main and secondary arterial road curbs, sidewalks, and edge stone ramps at 20 kilometers long.

It will also complete the renovation of 42 back streets and alleys, 12,174 households in old communities and 2,350 households in shantytowns, add two new public toilets, and complete the ecological environment improvement project of the centralized drinking water source protection area of Yudongxia Reservoir.

Others tasks will include adding five elderly nursing facilities in residential communities and three farmers' markets.
