Nanming enjoys tourism boom over May Day holiday

Tourism in Nanming district in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been performing strongly, with revenue hitting 882 million yuan ($126.91 million) over the recent May Day holiday.

Over the five-day vacation from April 29 to May 3, tourists made 1.07 million trips to Nanming.

Information from the Nanming district bureau of culture, sports, radio, film, television and tourism shows that around 76 percent of tourists visiting Nanming came from Guizhou province, followed by visitors from Chongqing municipality, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, as well as Guangdong and Sichuan provinces.

Blocks full of street vendors selling snacks and landmark scenic spots were hugely popular among tourists.

During the holiday, the bureau received zero safety accident reports.
