The integrated development of the tourism and culture industries has driven the rapid development of Nanming district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

In 2022, the tourism revenue generated in Nanming reached 27.2 billion yuan ($3.91 billion), ranking eighth on the list of China's top 100 districts in terms of comprehensive tourism development.

Meanwhile, Qingyun Road in the jurisdiction of Nanming was selected as a tourism and leisure block, a night-time consumption area and a night-time food gathering area at the provincial level in 2022.

To boost the integrated development of local culture and tourism, great efforts have been made and are as follows:

Build a block that seamlessly integrates various forms of culture

The block is built around the Nanming River and with Jiaxiu Pavilion as its core, connecting to nearby Cuwei Lane, Xihu Road, Jiandao Street, Memorial Tower, and more.

It is designed to accommodate a diverse range of industries, including cultural exhibitions, culinary leisure, theme-based performances, creative experiences, artistic entertainment, and exchanges based on tea culture.

Meanwhile, a digital, networked, and intelligent transformation of infrastructure along the Nanming River has been undertaken.

Since the online launch of the "Jiaxiubao" mini-program one year ago, it has attracted over 490,000 registered users, with a total transaction volume of more than 2.7 million yuan.

It has also attracted over 1,900 merchants to settle in the area, with around 7,700 products or services available for sale in the app.

Continue to improve tourism services

To improve tourist satisfaction levels, Nanming is constantly improving its tourism infrastructure, enhancing the quality of tourist accommodations, dining experiences and services, as well as strengthening market regulations.

In 2022, more than 200 safety inspections were carried out, inspecting 1,259 cultural and tourism venues.

A total of 418 general hazards were identified and rectified, with a 100 percent rectification rate.

In addition, over 1,200 travel agencies, service outlets, tourist vehicles, and related tourist shopping locations were inspected. A total of 20 cases of illegal and irregular tourism complaints were investigated, with 1,149 cases completed on the 12345 platform.
