Cultural and Natural Heritage Day event shines in Nanming

The intangible cultural heritage promotion and display event of the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, along with the Intangible Cultural Heritage Shopping Festival, was held on Qingyun Road in Nanming district of Guiyang on June 10.

The event commenced with the melodious singing of the Bouyei ethnic group's traditional songs, which was followed by a series of captivating performances.

Numerous unique and representative intangible cultural heritage items were showcased, offering visitors a memorable experience.

In addition to the fascinating performances, the event also featured traditional martial arts demonstrations by Guiyang's local martial arts teams. Spectators were treated to dynamic performances of He-style tai chi, Wudang Sword, Xingyi Quan, and Tongbei Quan, among others.

These demonstrations highlighted the vitality and charm of traditional martial arts, captivating the audience with their skill and grace.

While the live performances continued to dazzle, the shopping festival offered a feast for the senses. The festival presented a wide array of intangible cultural heritage delicacies and creative products, leaving visitors spoilt for choice.

Exquisite silver jewelry, embroidered and dyed garments, stone and jade carvings, handcrafted weaving and embroidery works, and ceramic products were among the many items on display.

During the event, the list of Guiyang's 2023 intangible cultural heritage tourism experience spaces and the 11th batch of Nanming district's district-level intangible cultural heritage representative projects were announced, with plaques awarded to the recipients. Additionally, certificates were presented to the 2024 cultural talents (intangible cultural heritage category).
