Nanming empowers digital economy as new engine of development

Since the beginning of this year, Nanming district in Guizhou province has steadfastly positioned the digital economy as a driver of the development of new quality productive forces. It has emphasized the convergence of computing power, optimization of network infrastructure, and enhancement of application facilities, gradually advancing the construction of computing power, networks, and application infrastructure.

Exploring the convergence of computing power

Nanming plans to form a super-intelligent computing cluster integrating storage and computing, strengthening synergy and innovation integration with the Guian New Area.

Together with the Guizhou branch of the National Supercomputing Center in Guangzhou, they aim to create a super-intelligent integrated computing platform that combines computing centers, industrial clusters, application innovation incubation, and talent development.

Nanming will also establish a data element industrial aggregation area core around "data processing services, data governance and management services, data utilization and value exploration services, and AI large models."

Moreover, it will optimize computing power operations and create a computing network and heterogeneous cross-domain computing power scheduling platform, managing various architectures and different brands and regions of computing power from Guizhou to the entire nation.

Elsewhere, it will build edge data centers, deploying small and medium-sized city data centers and micro-edge data centers to support edge data computing, storage, and transmission, meeting the low-latency demands of new business applications.

Optimizing network infrastructure

Nanming is advancing 5G network development, focusing on comprehensive coverage in key areas within urban regions and extensive coverage in rural areas.

It aims to achieve full 5G coverage in traffic hubs, important commercial areas, and bustling districts. It is upgrading gigabit optical network capabilities, deploying fiber-to-the-home in new residential buildings, and gradually renovating fiber optics in batches in old residential buildings.

The Nanming Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park and the Nanming New Digital Industrial Aggregation Area will have well-established, high-speed, technologically advanced broadband network infrastructure.

Enhancing application infrastructure

Nanming is developing new technological infrastructure to drive the development of industrial internet platforms, elevating the level of industrial internet networks, identification, platforms, security, and integrated application facilities around key projects.

It is advancing digital integration infrastructure by deploying internet of things sensing facilities in critical areas such as the municipal, transportation, and security sectors and building smart flood control and emergency infrastructure.

It is also developing digital innovation infrastructure by encouraging leading enterprises and research institutions to jointly build high-level innovation platforms and supporting new weather companies in applying for the establishment of the Guizhou Province Meteorological Big Data Key Laboratory.
