Nanming consumer spending surges during National Day holiday

During this year's National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, Nanming district in Guiyang city experienced a significant boost in tourism and consumer spending.

The district welcomed approximately 1.28 million tourists during the seven-day holiday, marking a 22.25 percent increase compared to last year. Tourism revenue reached 1.09 billion yuan ($155.49 million), reflecting a 23.85 percent growth.

Hotel occupancy rates in the area were strong, with nine star-rated hotels accommodating 18,250 guests and generating 5.34 million yuan in revenue, a 16.7 percent increase year-on-year. Additionally, three A-rated tourist attractions in the district received about 240,000 visits.

A highlight of the National Day holiday was the popularity of "shopping circle tours" in Nanming.

Various commercial complexes hosted vibrant themed activities, invigorating consumer spending and heating up the market. At the Huaguoyuan shopping district, light art shows and cold fireworks displays at the Dolphin Plaza attracted numerous visits.

Meanwhile, the DC PLAZA introduced innovative events like the Potato Doll Parade and extended business hours to enhance the holiday shopping experience for consumers.

Major retail enterprises in the district reported total sales of approximately 190 million yuan, a remarkable 107 percent increase from the previous year. The total footfall in major shopping complexes exceeded 3.08 million, underscoring the robust consumer activities during the holiday period.
