The launch ceremony for Guizhou's first food safety demonstration street for take-out was held on Dec 12 at Cao Zhuangyuan Street in Nanming district, Guiyang city.
This initiative, jointly developed by the Nanming district market regulation bureau and third-party online platforms, marks a significant step forward in ensuring food safety in the province's growing take-out industry.
During the ceremony, officials highlighted the demonstration street's importance and potential, unveiled a plaque for the "Online Dining Food Safety Demonstration Street," and awarded delivery riders "Food Safety Special Supervisor" appointments.
The project has already integrated 20 high-quality restaurants into the "Transparent Kitchen" platform, with 10 recognized as "safe and clean restaurants" on the Meituan platform.
This effort addresses key challenges in online dining, such as unclear accountability, lack of transparency in food preparation processes, and inconsistent regulation of takeout vendors, providing consumers with a safer dining experience.
"As part of this initiative, Zhuangyuanlou Restaurant is committed to adhering to laws and demonstration street standards, improving internal management, and ensuring food safety," said Feng Yong, a representative from the restaurant.
Delivery rider Xiao Li also expressed his dedication to the project, stating, "As riders, we must actively contribute to ensure every meal delivered is safe and reliable."
