The inauguration ceremony for the Zhengtian Engineering Maker Guiyang Base was held on Jan 3 at the Nanming District Big Data Training and Production Base.

The new base aims to establish a scientific education community in Nanming district. It employs a "One Core, Two Wings, Three Drivers" approach centered on teacher capacity building, with student innovation and creativity as dual priorities. It is also driven by resource integration, model innovation, and curriculum development.

This "Nanming Model" explores new paradigms, standards, and methodologies for science education. It incorporates cutting-edge technologies and fosters a culture of innovation.

The base integrates digital, scientific, technical, engineering, and intelligent literacy through hands-on activities and real-world tasks, enhancing teachers' expertise in data-driven teaching, AI applications, and scientific inquiry.

It bridges science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), empowering educators to inspire students' innovation and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills.

During the ceremony, the Nanming district education bureau, Beijing Zhengtian Hengye CNC Technology Co, and Nanming Smart Industry Service Operation Co signed a tripartite strategic cooperation agreement. It aims to pool resources for advancing educational technology, developing primary and university STEM curricula, and exploring innovative teaching models.

Guiyang No 18 Middle School, Beijing Zhengtian Hengye CNC Technology Co, Shining 3D Technology Co, and the Nanming Smart Industry Service Operation Company Union also signed a four-party collaboration agreement.

This partnership seeks to build a scientific education community by introducing digital and AI-driven maker projects into teacher training programs. It aims to foster innovative teaching approaches, such as inquiry-based, case-based, and project-based learning.

The initiative offers professional support for scenario-based and experiential science activities for primary and secondary students. It emphasizes cultivating curiosity and a spirit of exploration among younger students while equipping secondary students with the ability to solve engineering problems using interdisciplinary knowledge. The program also integrates general and vocational education to instill craftsmanship, strengthen work ethics, and develop modern, innovation-driven talent aligned with sustainable development principles.
