In 2024, Nanming district, Guiyang, maintained its commitment to people-centered reforms, implementing measures to enhance residents' well-being and improve public services.
Last year, the district completed 62 "15-minute living circle" projects, built three public parking lots offering 4,514 additional parking spaces, and digitized five farmers' markets. Renovations of urban villages and old neighborhoods met annual targets, and 28 alleys and 151.6 kilometers of underground pipelines were upgraded, exceeding goals.
Focusing on rural development, Nanming renovated 200 homes, demolished five vacant buildings, achieved 100-percent drinking water coverage and successfully prevented the occurrence of any rural blackwater incidents.
Meanwhile, the district integrated its rural areas into city waste systems with daily clearance, built one rural toilet management station, upgraded 11 public toilets, and added three eco-friendly facilities.
Additionally, great importance was attached to Nanming's healthcare, employment and education sectors.
In 2024, the district increased its number of hospital beds by 14.83 percent, adding 80 district-managed healthcare facilities and 4,739 childcare slots across 92 providers. It also created 39,127 new urban jobs, surpassing targets with zero jobless households, and optimized school capacity and resource allocation to meet the needs of school-age children.
