Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, hosted a voluntary tree-planting event under the theme "Building a Beautiful Guizhou, Sharing Ecological Benefits" on Feb 5, contributing to a greener Guizhou and more vibrant Nanming.

Participants planted over 350 saplings, including red maple, osmanthus, and crabapple trees, covering an area of 5 mu (0.33 hectares).

In recent years, Nanming has prioritized ecological protection and green development. In 2024, the district added 60,000 square meters of green space and achieved a 99.5 percent air quality excellence rate, ranking among China's top 100 green development districts.

This year, Nanming will uphold its dual focus on development and ecological preservation, further expanding green initiatives, strengthening urban sustainability, and protecting its lush mountains, clear waters, and blue skies.
