Nanming district in Guiyang city tapped into the potential of big data in 2024, driving breakthroughs in the digital economy. The district's software and IT services sector recorded a revenue of 5.26 billion yuan ($722.53 million), a 10.7 percent increase, ranking second in the city.
The internet and related services sector grew 22.69 percent year over year, ranking third in driving economic growth, while software and IT services saw an 8.05 percent increase, ranking first in contribution.
In 2024, Nanming hosted 49 internet and software service companies above a designated size. Newly designated enterprises generated 439 million yuan in revenue, boosting the sector's growth by 32.8 percentage points.
Additionally, 23 new AI and computing power application companies, such as Zhulong Technology and Guohan Technology, were introduced, further expanding the digital industry.
The Nanming Big Data Training Base focused on digital content creation and distribution, attracting top firms such as Dawa Future and Huatai Zhiyuan, specializing in computing applications, data annotation, the metaverse, and gaming. The district continuously injected fresh talent into the big data sector through industry-education integration and school-enterprise partnerships, accelerating industrial upgrades and economic development.
