Peach blossom run boosts rural vitalization

From March 22 to 23, the Seventh Nanming Yongle Peach Blossom Run in Guiyang city's Nanming district attracted over 20,000 visitors and generated more than 1.8 million yuan ($249,300) in revenue.

The event combined sports, tourism, culture, and industry as a dynamic example of rural vitalization and integrated economic development. It also invited the participation of professional teams such as the China Everest Running Team and the Li Duanfen Running Team.

In an innovative crossover between film and sports, out-of-town participants could qualify for the event by presenting a Ne Zha 2 movie ticket stub purchased in Guiyang. This creative initiative attracted national attention from running enthusiasts and moviegoers, significantly boosting participation.

A variety of cultural activities helped enrich the experience. The "Peach Blossom Garden Fair," "Peach Market," and "Peach Blossom Viewing Festival" featured traditional performances, including a Twelve Flower Gods Parade, hanfu experiences, and art exhibitions.

A major highlight was the introduction of an intangible cultural heritage craft workshop, where visitors explored exquisite Miao embroidery from Ganjing village. Skilled artisans demonstrated the embroidery techniques of the Qingmiao and Yinmiao subgroups. Many runners and tourists tried embroidery under the artisans' guidance, gaining a deeper appreciation for this traditional art form.

The event also featured the "Guiyang Roadside Concerts · Yongle in Bloom." Local bands Qian Yue Fang and Zhe Er Gen delivered heartfelt performances amid the springtime scenery, offering attendees an immersive experience.

Market stalls showcased a rich selection of local delicacies and peach blossom-themed souvenirs, connecting farmers and visitors while stimulating local economic growth.
