As the first light of dawn breaks through the lingering mist at 6:30 am, Yan'an South Road in Nanming district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province is already coming to life as dozens of buses wait to ferry travelers from across the country to Guizhou's many scenic destinations.

Dubbed humorously by netizens as "Guizhou Long", this bustling transportation hub sees an average of 50 to 60 buses daily during peak seasons, transporting up to 3,000 tourists. The district has become a central player amid Guizhou's booming tourism by "touring the province by day, returning to Nanming by night".

To accommodate this influx, Nanming has rolled out a series of upgrades. The 715-meter stretch from the Yan'an South Road railway bridge to the intersection with Duhui Avenue now features striking new blue signage to guide passengers.

The district has also added eight new passenger access points, doubling the previous number, and linking them with residential entrances and public bus stations to form an efficient service matrix.

Two public restrooms around the local tourism dispatch center are now clearly marked with seven new signs, ensuring visitor convenience at every turn.

This commitment to hospitality has become a shared value in Nanming. According to traffic police from the Guiyang public security bureau's Nanming division, tourist pick-up and drop-off typically occur between 6:40 and 7:30 am and 4:30 and 6:00 pm.

To reduce congestion and improve the tourist experience, authorities have implemented strategic traffic measures: buses must complete boarding before the morning rush hour (by 7:30 a.m.); vehicles are dispersed across Yan'an South Road, Xiaochehe Road, Zunyi Middle Road, and Duhui Avenue to avoid clustering; buses must load passengers and depart immediately, with no long-term parking allowed; and additional traffic officers are deployed during peak periods to maintain smooth and orderly flow.

Safety and regulation enforcement are a joint effort. Officials from the Guiyang road transport bureau, Nanming's cultural market law enforcement team, and other agencies are on-site to verify the credentials of tour operators and bus drivers, ensuring a secure and well-managed environment.
