Nangming tourism thrives during Dragon Boat Festival holiday

Guiyang's Nanming district saw a strong surge in cultural and tourism consumption during the 2025 Dragon Boat Festival holiday from May 31 to June 2, welcoming approximately 572,000 visitors and generating tourism revenue of around 490 million yuan ($68.82 million) – year-on-year increases of 15.7 percent and 16.7 percent, respectively.

On June 1 alone, 10 local star-rated hotels recorded a combined revenue of 596,000 yuan, up 8.5 percent from last year, reflecting the district's thriving hospitality sector.

Outdoor and nature-based tourism proved especially popular during the holiday, with major scenic spots like Jiaxiu Pavilion, Guiyang Medicinal Botanical Garden, and Hebin Park attracting a combined 90,000 visitors over the holiday.

To meet the holiday rush and create a festive atmosphere, Nanming launched a variety of cultural events catering to all age groups, which drew 115,000 participants.

Qingyun Road Pedestrian Street hosted vibrant celebrations blending festival traditions with music and modern culture, including outdoor concerts, K-pop flash mobs, and zongzi and herbal bouquet workshops.

On the Dragon Boat Festival day alone, 33,000 people joined in, generating about 430,000 yuan in consumption. Over the holiday, the area attracted 90,000 visitors and led to a total spending of 1.31 million yuan.

Meanwhile, Huaguoyuan's Haile Block came alive with a large-scale zongzi-making contest, dragon and drum performances, and traditional folk song competitions. The lively blend of culture and festivity drew 120,000 visitors and contributed nearly 1 million yuan in consumption during the holiday.
