On June 6, the Nanming District Cultural Center hosted a vibrant Yueju Opera performance to mark the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. The event featured graceful music and elegant movements that celebrated China's rich cultural heritage.
Over 50 villagers and Yueju Opera enthusiasts from four townships gathered to enjoy the showcase, which blended tradition with modern rural life. Professional performers from the Baihua Yueju Opera Troupe shared the stage with local opera fans from the Nanming District Folk Culture Association, presenting classic pieces like Shouxinshoubei Doushirou and Shamo Wangzi. These works highlighted the refined artistry of Yueju Opera, including its unique blend of singing, speaking, acting, and martial arts.
Newly adapted pieces such as Woba Meijiu Xiangeini added a local touch, demonstrating how traditional opera can resonate with contemporary village life. The event aimed to deepen appreciation for traditional Chinese culture and promote its revival in rural communities.
