At the height of summer, yangmei (Chinese bayberry) orchards in Ganjing village of Yongle township, Nanming district, Guiyang, are bursting with ripe, ruby-red fruit, drawing crowds and driving rural vitalization. Spanning over 500 mu (around 33.33 hectares), the orchards are home to premium varieties like Dongkui and Biqi yangmei. Since the picking season opened on June 14, more than 500 visitors have flocked to the orchards, enjoying the harvest and fueling local tourism revenue.

"This year's yield is great. I've already made over 4,000 yuan ($555.56) in just four days," said local grower Zhan Yonghui.

To expand sales channels, Yongle township has launched a dual online-offline marketing campaign. Livestreams on platforms like Douyin showcase the fruit in vivid detail, while promotions on Xiaohongshu (RedNote) and WeChat help spread the word.

Offline, a 19.9 yuan discounted experience package – including orchard access, 1 kilogram of yangmei, and photo tickets for nearby scenic spots – has become a hit, blending fruit picking with rural photography.

As the yangmei season reaches its peak, the township's tourism scene is thriving. Local homestays and farm-to-table eateries are buzzing with guests eager to savor the fruit, sample traditional dishes, and unwind in the countryside – painting a promising picture of agri-cultural tourism in full bloom.
