Over 50 international travel agents from South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand arrived in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on June 23 for a six-day tour to design and promote tourism itineraries linking Guizhou and Southeast Asia.
On the night they arrived, the delegation immersed themselves in Guiyang's Qingyun Market, discovering intangible cultural heritage crafts such as Miao embroidery, batik, and silver jewelry, and sampling local delicacies like Qingyan braised pork trotters and fish mint yogurt.
"Seoul's twice-daily direct flights to Macao, paired with Macao-Guiyang daily flights, create ideal conditions for Seoul-Macao-Guiyang tour packages," said Mr Kim, a South Korean travel agency representative. "Through livestreaming influencers, TV shopping channels, and mini-dramas, we'll highlight Guizhou's landscapes, cuisine, and culture for Korean travelers."
Zhang Ailun, product director of Singapore's Chan Brothers Travel (China Division), stated, "Our 200-person in-depth Guizhou tour last September received overwhelming feedback. We'll amplify promotions focusing on the province's history, natural wonders, and climate advantages."
The Guiyang-Macao flight route has carried nearly 60,000 passengers and 100 metric tons of cargo since its launch nine years ago, connecting Guizhou travelers to 12 destinations across Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia via Macao International Airport.
Supported by the 240-hour visa-free transit policy, this initiative addresses pain points of international tourists, including rushed schedules and superficial experiences. It showcases Guizhou's rich resources and premium joint itineraries to attract global travelers seeking immersive experiences during transit stays.
