Nanming celebrates ethnic unity and heritage

Nanming district held an event titled "Embroidering Ethnic Unity, Painting a Better Life" on June 30, offering residents an immersive experience of ethnic culture through traditional craft workshops and cultural education.

Staff members engaged the public through interactive Q&A sessions and informational handouts to promote awareness of ethnic policies.

A highlight of the event was a workshop in which 20 ethnic culture enthusiasts crafted fashionable batik cloth shoes under the guidance of traditional artisans.

Participants explored the origins of batik, the evolution of traditional shoemaking, and techniques such as precise measuring, pattern design, and stitching. With each step, the artisans shared the warmth and legacy of this thousand-year-old tradition.
