The People's Daily overseas edition featured Guiyang's Nanming district as a prime example of China's progress in cultivating an ecological civilization in its front-page report. The article highlighted the remarkable transformation of the Nanming River, once a polluted waterway but now reborn as a shining ecological showcase for the city.

This is yet another example of China's broader sustainability achievements, which were presented at the Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2025. Key metrics reveal nationwide progress: urban PM2.5 levels were reduced to 29.3 micrograms per cubic meter, 90.4 percent of surface water now meets quality standards, and China maintained global leadership in renewable energy with 70 percent market share in solar panels and wind turbines. The forum particularly spotlighted Zhejiang province's UN-recognized initiatives, including the Green Rural Revival Program, and the recipient of the Champions of the Earth Award.

International delegates praised China's "lucid waters and lush mountains" development philosophy as providing models for global sustainability. The Qingyun Market's eco-conscious architecture and vibrant green economy further demonstrated how environmental protection drives economic vitality in Guiyang.

As the world's largest carbon market operator and renewable energy investor, China continues to utilize platforms such as the Eco Forum Global to foster international collaboration. With developing countries particularly benefiting from China's green technology transfers and the Belt and Road initiative, Guiyang's environmental landmarks stand as living testaments to achievable ecological progress.
