Guiyang's Nanming district is implementing a series of refined measures to create a cleaner, tidier, and more comfortable environment for visitors, aiming to deliver a high-quality tourism experience.
To improve city landscapes, upgrades have been carried out at more than 10 sites, including the Youdian Building, Xinhua Road, and Xianhua Square. Enhancements to small scenic installations, pocket parks, and roadside greenery are nearly complete and will display flowers year-round.
In tourist spots and key areas, the district has combined fixed-point duty with mobile patrols to regulate illegal parking, notably addressing the disorderly placement of shared e-bikes. These efforts have improved road cleanliness and traffic flow.
For street vendors occupying public space, the district has adopted a "relocate and guide" approach, designating temporary stalls to bring them into regulated markets. Patrols have been stepped up at peak areas and hours, with repeat offenders penalized. The result is more orderly business operations and cleaner streets.
During hot and dry weather, water trucks are dispatched to hydrate trees, including rare and historical species, with watering scheduled for early mornings and evenings to boost efficiency and save water.
Through its smart management platform, the district ensures rapid detection and repair of urban infrastructure issues. A 24-hour patrol and emergency response mechanism enables immediate handling of hazards such as damaged manhole covers, potholes, and faulty streetlights. Regular safety inspections further ensure that municipal facilities remain in optimal condition.
