An AI-generated ink-wash martial arts trailer for Military Champion Cao Weicheng was released in Guiyang city recently, showcasing how a Nanming district-based big data company is using advanced artificial intelligence generated content (AIGC) technology to reimagine a Guizhou historical figure for modern audiences.

Produced by Guizhou Zhiying Mofang Technology Co, the short film applies AI across the full production pipeline. Algorithms reconstruct Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) costumes, weapons, and local settings with historical accuracy, while dynamic rendering brings traditional ink-wash visuals into motion, creating an immersive viewing experience.

The trailer highlights a fusion of Eastern aesthetics and digital innovation. In forest training scenes, martial arts movements are rendered with precision and fluidity, while large-scale competition sequences capture the intensity of combat through shifting ink tones and expressive composition.

The project also demonstrates significant gains in efficiency. With AI-powered editing and visual effects, production time for the trailer was reduced from weeks to just three days, underscoring the role of AIGC in accelerating high-quality content creation.

By bringing a centuries-old scholar-warrior story to life, the film offers a fresh approach to engaging younger audiences and expanding the reach of local cultural IP, while reflecting Nanming's push to integrate digital technology with cultural industries.
