Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held an industrial development promotion conference on May 14. With a focus on boosting local industries and prioritizing manufacturing, the district aims to accelerate high-quality industrial growth.
Nanming outlined its overarching strategy for advancing new-type industrialization during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30). The district will pursue smart, green, and integrated development by anchoring its efforts around two core industry clusters: digital intelligence and specialty light industry.
By deepening the integration of Nanming Administrative District, Nanming Economic Development Zone, and Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, Nanming plans to build a modern industrial system that reflects its local identity, utilizes its advantages, and supports high-quality growth.
The district will coordinate the synchronized development of four hardware sectors – chips, components, circuit boards, and terminal devices – and four software sectors – industrial internet, AI, data elements, and digital content – as well as data labeling. This initiative aims to drive digital transformation across related industries and create a distinctive, high-value digital intelligence cluster.
Focusing on eco-friendly food, cultural and creative light industry, and health and beauty, Nanming aims to build an industrial cluster powered by the synergy of "urban light industry + modern services", fostering deeper integration between the manufacturing and service sectors.
Aligned with national strategic development goals, the district will use real-world scenario applications to drive industrial growth, cultivate new growth points in niche markets, and seize early opportunities in the industries of the future.
