Guiyang's Nanming district is accelerating the transformation of its tourism sector by developing new consumption scenarios centered on coffee, cultural creativity, and rural retreats.
In the first half of 2026, the district recorded 376 million yuan ($55.42 million) in revenue from above-designated-size accommodation businesses, up 2.45 percent year-on-year.
During the same period, it received 4.56 million overnight domestic tourists and 107,900 overnight inbound tourists, with the latter ranking first in Guiyang.
Nanming has focused on creating immersive experiences beyond traditional sightseeing.
The district now has 421 coffee shops forming a diverse network of consumption and social spaces, as well as 213 cultural and creative enterprises and studios. It also offers more than 10,000 accommodation options.
