Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is accelerating digital transformation through industrial development, smart governance, and data value exploration, fueling high-quality growth.

The district has cultivated a growing digital economy ecosystem, with 44 digital economy enterprises above designated size.

It has also fostered innovation in areas such as digital humans, artificial intelligence, and data applications. In the Huaguoyuan area, a newly recognized digital industry cluster has attracted 45 high-tech enterprises, 19 enterprises above designated size, and four technologically advanced companies.

Building on Guizhou's strength in computing power, Nanming is promoting the integration of energy and computing infrastructure. Through cooperation with digital power enterprises, the district has advanced smart grid upgrades and improved power supply reliability, laying a solid foundation for digital industries.

Digital technologies are also reshaping urban governance. In Huaguoyuan, one of China's largest residential communities, a smart governance system integrates data from multiple departments to improve public services, security, and community management.

The district has developed a city operation platform that connects more than 100 million pieces of business data, enabling more efficient decision-making.

Nanming is also exploring ways to unlock the value of data resources. In 2025, it was selected as a provincial pilot area for data intellectual property rights, with local enterprises making breakthroughs in turning data assets into measurable value.
